How is Spend different from Expense?

Spend is the finance team's view across everything the company pays for: employee expenses and reports, trips and advances, company cards, purchase requests, orders and vendor bills, with budgets and approvals across all of it. Expense is the focused app for employee claims.

Do company cards connect to my bank?

Cards work from the bank statement you upload as a CSV. Lines are matched to expenses employees have already entered, and the rest appear as unmatched transactions.

Can a budget block spending?

Yes. A budget set to enforce stops an expense that would take it over the limit. Other budgets warn at the alert percentage you choose.

Can I set my own policy?

Yes. Set when a receipt is needed, limits per expense, day and report, category limits and blocked categories. Expenses outside the policy are flagged.

Does it handle payroll?

Payroll has its own Orbitly app. Spend links to it and keeps reimbursements, which are the end of an expense report, in its own section.

Can I turn off what we do not use?

Yes. Trips, advances, purchase requests, quotes, orders, receiving and recurring bills can each be switched off. Reports and bills always stay on.
