Create a segment

A segment is a saved filter over your contacts, for example everyone tagged customer who opened an email. The number of people in it is counted live, so it stays current as your contacts change.

Create one

1. Open Segments and choose Add segment. You can also choose Create Segment on Lists or Contacts.
2. Enter a Segment Name.
3. Under Match, choose All of these rules or Any of these rules.
4. Set the first rule. Pick a field, a condition and a value.
5. Choose Add a rule for more, or Remove to take one out.
6. Choose Count matching people to check the size.
7. Choose Create Segment.

What you can filter on

Tag, In list, Status, Email, First name, Last name, Company, Source, Opened an email and Clicked an email. The last two look at any campaign.

Conditions are is, is not, contains and starts with. Tag, list, status, opened and clicked offer only is and is not.

Use a segment

When you create a campaign, open Recipients and pick it under Only people in this segment (optional). The campaign goes to people who are on the chosen lists and also match the segment. See Create and send an email campaign.

The Segments page shows each segment's rules and People now. Delete removes the segment, not the contacts.
